Materials being transported from Island Project

07/31/2020

The Landfill office of the Public Safety Division wishes to advise the community that materials from the Tekakwitha Island Rehabilitation Project are being transported to a private property just past Indian Way School on Mohawk Trail. Permission from the lot holder has been given.

The material has been deemed safe and approved and is being used for road base. Permits and Tickets have been issued for tracking purposes.

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office will also be transporting more of the same material from the Island project to the Landfill Storage Facility, located on the Seaway Road Lot SLS 88-1/RSQ 575, tentatively beginning next week.

Permits and Tickets will also be issued for this project, and as always, Inspector Bruce McComber will be on-site to ensure that all normal precautions are in place.

For questions or more information, please call the Public Safety Division at (450) 632-0635.
