08/03/2020
The Court of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the public that court sessions will resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. Court sessions had been postponed as a measure of health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kahnawà:ke Golden Age Club will be used as a court room on a temporary basis. It has been inspected by the Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force and has been approved.
Due to space restrictions and for reasons of health and safety, access to the court room will be restricted to only those whose attendance is necessary.
The Court of Kahnawà:ke also wishes to advise that remote court will be implemented for certain proceedings, in which parties may have the opportunity to attend court by teleconference or videoconference and not be present in a physical court room. In such cases, those involved will be contacted directly. Proceedings at the Court of Kahnawà:ke will, as much as possible, be held remotely.
The Court of Kahnawà:ke thanks you for your patience and understanding during this time.
