Bars and Gaming postponed until further notice

The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force would like to inform the Community that the August 10^th scheduled re-opening of bars and gaming establishments has been postponed until further notice.

The initial date of August 10^th had always been conditional and subject to re-evaluation as are all re-openings.

The rationale for the decision to postpone is based on current statistics that indicate there is an increase in the weekly average number of new cases in Québec and it is anticipated it will continue to rise. The task force wants to maintain public gatherings at 50 (rather than 250 like Québec) and wants to focus on health and safety for all Kahnawake.

The task force will continue to monitor the overall situation and will adjust measures accordingly.
