The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that an accident during excavation work near the Lifting Station located in the area near the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre has caused a power outage at the Lifting Station. A technician has been called and repairs will take place first thing tomorrow morning. 

As a result of the accident, raw sewage will have to be flushed into the bay area near the Onake Paddling Club until the power is restored. Though not ideal, this operation is absolutely necessary, otherwise the Hospital Centre and residences in the area will be severely affected.

Community members are asked to avoid using the area for recreational purposes until the Community Health Representatives clear the area for use once the repairs are made.
