Williamsburg Railway Crossing
08/05/2008
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform all Kahnawa’kehró:non that the Capital Unit and C.P.R. (Canadian Pacific Railway) will be installing a new drainage pipe on the road crossing the CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway) tracks in the area known as Williamsburg. These works are necessary to alleviate the drainage problems that exist in the area. The work will start on Thursday, August 7, 2008 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will take approximately 3 days to complete, weather permitting.
Proper signalization will be erected to delimiting the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked to allow for the safe passage of pedestrians. It will be necessary for all local residents that stay on the south side of the CPR crossing to park their vehicles on the north side of the tracks before 7:00 a.m. each morning.
Your patience throughout this project is greatly appreciated and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience. If further information is required, please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016.
