Peacekeeper operation results in three arrests

The Kahnawą:ke Peacekeepers wish to provide information to the community regarding a police operation that took place yesterday on the Territory.

At approximately 17:00 hrs., the Kahnawą:ke Peacekeepers simultaneously executed a search warrant at a residence on Blind lady’s Hill and two vehicles, one of which was intercepted near the Rte. 207/Cemetery Road intersection.

The operation focused on suspected drug trafficking activity. During the operation, multiple types of suspected narcotics, prohibited devices and cash were seized. Two local males, 26 and 62 years of age and one local female, 30, were placed under arrest.

The 62-year-old male was released on a promise to appear. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in a substance.

The 26-year-old male, who was the driver of the vehicle, and the 30-year-old female were held for arraignment. They face charges of possession for trafficking and trafficking in a substance.
