10/08/2020
The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission wishes to inform the community that the draft Regulations for the Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Law are now posted for a 30-day Feedback Period.
Upon completion of the 30-day period, the Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Board will review and analyze the feedback.
The Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Law was enacted on December 10, 2018 as a means to protect the health and safety of the community, to protect the youth by restricting their access and exposure to cannabis and cannabis by-products, and to deter illicit and illegal activities in relation to cannabis on the Territory. The regulations are a necessary component to the implementation of the law. Once enacted, they will provide for the licensing application process to begin.
The Feedback Period will end on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 4pm. The draft regulations can be viewed at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.
