11/30/2020
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that Louise Mayo has been hired as the new Coordinator for the Indian Day School Settlement efforts in Kahnawà:ke.
While she began her position on November 23rd, she has spent most of her time preparing herself for the most important part of her duties: assisting community members in preparing claims, which can be submitted until July 13, 2022.
The Coordinator is responsible for providing information to Kahnawa’kehró:non on all matters related to the Indian Day School Settlement agreement. Due to the pandemic, she will be working from home for the time being.
Louise can be contacted by email at louise.mayo@mck.ca or by phone at 514-793-0662.
As previously stated, the Indian Day School Settlement is not an MCK initiative. The MCK is working with Kahnawà:ke Shakotiia’takéhnhas Community Services to provide community members with accurate information on this important matter.
