Special Weather Statement issued for our region

The Public Safety Division (PSD) would like to advise the community to be prepared for a mix of precipitation expected in the Kahnawake region this weekend.

PSD is monitoring a low-pressure system that could bring light snow Saturday morning and then change into freezing rain. This may cause electricity interruptions if power lines become damaged due to ice accumulation or downed tree branches.

In case of a power outage, you can contact Hydro-Quebec at 1-800-790-2424 to find out when power will be restored.

Poor driving conditions are also expected. Please consider postponing non-essential travel. IF you must drive, please adjust your speed according to road and weather conditions.
