Rainy and Windy Christmas expected

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for our area.

On Christmas Eve, a strong southerly flow will bring mild temperatures, sustained winds and rain. Rainfall amounts of 20 to 60 millimetres are expected.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Homeowners are asked to verify that their home′s sump-pump is functioning properly, and to take any other precautions deemed necessary.
