Recycling during COVID times

01/06/2021

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke wishes to advise the community of minor changes to the recycling collection during this critical time of the pandemic.

The Minimax Recycling truck
Due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the community, all recyclable items must be placed inside the big blue recycling bin to be collected. All excess bags that are not in the recycle bin will not be collected. This request is to limit the contact of picking up bags by hand. Also, a reminder that disposable masks and rubber gloves are not recyclable.

Cardboard Collection
Please have all corrugated cardboard boxes that are placed out for collection free of plastics and styrofoam.

Weekly garbage pick-up
Please respect the four (4) bag limit and do not pile up garbage at the end of the driveway. If you have a garbage bin, use only the bin with no extra bags: only one (1) x 360-litre bin, or four (4) bags per household.

For any further questions, please contact the Kahnawą:ke Waste Management Department at 450-632-4321 or email wastemanagement@mck.ca.
