Restrictions in force in Tioweroton

01/08/2021

The Kahnaw:ke COVID-19 Task Force (Task Force) would like to remind the community that ALL current COVID-19 measures and restrictions are to be followed while in Tiower:ton. This includes restrictions on gatherings and visitations.

There are concerns that some Kahnawakehr:non are not respecting the current restrictions on gatherings and visitations, said Commissioner of Public Safety Lloyd Phillips. This is not only a violation of the Kahnaw:ke Emergency Preparedness Law; this could have serious repercussions on the health and safety of all Kahnawakehr:non, in Tiower:ton and in Kahnaw:ke.

With the number of positive COVID-19 cases on the rise in the community, the Task Force is asking all Kahnawakehr:non to stay home. If you must leave your home or Kahnaw:ke for essential items, please follow all recommended health and safety measures, restrictions, and protocols.

On a related note, although Quebecs upcoming curfew will not be in effect in Kahnaw:ke or Tiower:ton, Kahnawakehr:non may be subject to fines when off the Territory during the curfew hours.
