Chief Kirby to Attend Meeting of Elected Women

Chief Rhonda Kirby will be in Lac Beauport to attend a meeting of elected women chiefs from the Quebec region, taking place on Wednesday and Thursday, 24-25 Seskehk�:wa/September.

The gathering is being organized through the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador and will be the first of its kind. The discussions will center on the women�s political commitment towards their communities and First Nations issues in general.

�This is a good opportunity to create new relationships and find ways where we, as women, can be most effective politically,� said Chief Kirby.

More than 85 elected women are expected to attend.
