Chief Kirby to Attend Meeting of Elected Women

Chief Rhonda Kirby will be in Lac Beauport to attend a meeting of elected women chiefs from the Quebec region, taking place on Wednesday and Thursday, 24-25 Seskehkó:wa/September.

The gathering is being organized through the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador and will be the first of its kind. The discussions will center on the women’s political commitment towards their communities and First Nations issues in general.

“This is a good opportunity to create new relationships and find ways where we, as women, can be most effective politically,” said Chief Kirby.

More than 85 elected women are expected to attend.
