Task Force extremely concerned over those not self-isolating
01/08/2021
The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force is extremely concerned over reports that some Kahnawa’kehró:non who have recently tested positive or have been advised by Public Health to self-isolate, are not in compliance.
“We are appealing to Kahnawa’kehró:non to follow Public Health Directives in order to protect our most vulnerable”, said Lisa Westaway, Executive Director of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre. “Those who fail to self-isolate and follow the COVID-19 directives are putting the entire community at risk.”
Those who are told to self-isolate, MUST do so. “Please follow the directives of the local public health team. They are trained professionals”, says Lisa, “they know what they are doing, they have the community’s wellbeing at heart.” Failure to comply with Local Public Health Directives could result in heavy fines as per the Kahnawà:ke Emergency Preparedness Law.
Currently there are twenty (20) positive COVID-19 cases.
