Landfill Office approves movement of soil for Hydro Line 2 backfill

Please be advised that the Landfill Office, in collaboration with the Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO), has authorized the movement of soil from the JFK Quarry to locations along Hydro Line 2 beginning today, January 26, 2021.



The soil will be used to backfill excavations created by the removal of the hydro towers, their bases, and associated contaminated soils. The soil has been tested and inspected in advance; additional samples will be collected and analyzed as the project moves forward for additional verification.

The work will be on-going for approximately eight (8) weeks. All trucks involved will be carrying permits and tickets issued by the Landfill Office.
