Mark Jocks resigns from Kahnawake Gaming Commission

02/23/2021

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that Mark Jocks has tendered his resignation as a member of the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC).

Mr. Jocks has served as the Chairperson of the KGC since first being appointed in 2015. He had indicated his intention to step down several months ago due to circumstances unrelated to his role with the KGC, but had agreed to remain in the position during the pandemic to provide stability and consistency during this challenging time.

The MCK has begun the recruitment process for Mr. Jocks’ replacement. This is expected to be concluded in the near future.

The KGC consists of three voting Commissioners who are appointed by the MCK based on staggered terms. With Mr. Jocks’ resignation, the remaining members are Herb Rice and Daryl Leclaire.

“The MCK wishes to thank Mark for his service and dedication,” said Ratsénhaienhs Mike Delisle, Jr., who is the MCK Liaison to the KGC. “He provided the Commission with leadership in the ever-changing world of Gaming. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”
