02/23/2021
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to update the community of works being carried out on the Hydro-Québec Dismantlement project.
The removal of the wires over the Seaway and St. Lawrence River has been completed, and the dismantlement of tower #103 has begun today and should last throughout the week.
During the next two weeks, the two (2) towers on the North Wall will be dismantled, as well as towers #104 and #105 on the south shore of the canal.
Contaminated soil removal, backfilling, and site restoration continue this week at the North Wall for towers #100 and #101.
Kahnawa’kehró:non are being reminded to avoid the work area. The MCK thanks the community for their patience and cooperation.
