Hydro-Line Decommissioning continues as contaminated fill removed

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that quarried fill material will be delivered to the North Wall and the SLS Lands over the next two weeks (beginning Tuesday, March 9) as part of the Hydro Line 2 decommissioning project.
The fill will be used to backfill excavations completed to remove contaminated soil. Pulverized stone from a licensed quarry will be used for the backfill, which will then be finished with topsoil. The Kahnawą:ke Environment Protection Office will continue to monitor the operations.
The MCK thanks the community for their patience throughout this project.
