Hydro-Line Decommissioning continues as contaminated fill removed

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that quarried fill material will be delivered to the North Wall and the SLS Lands over the next two weeks (beginning Tuesday, March 9) as part of the Hydro Line 2 decommissioning project.

The fill will be used to backfill excavations completed to remove contaminated soil. Pulverized stone from a licensed quarry will be used for the backfill, which will then be finished with topsoil. The Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office will continue to monitor the operations.
