State of Emergency extended for 12th consecutive month

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the current State of Emergency has been extended for an additional period of 30 days.
The Mohawk Council Resolution was passed by Consensus at yesterdays duly-convened Council meeting. This Resolution includes the extension of the Mandate for the Kahnawą:ke COVID-19 Task Force.
This new extension is dated from March 21 to April 21, 2021. The State of Emergency has been in effect since it was initially declared on April 21, 2020. As required by Kahnawą:ke law, the State of Emergency must be renewed on a monthly basis.
These actions have been taken to ensure the protection of Kahnawą:kes jurisdiction while the community addresses all matters related to the pandemic.
