Icebreaker has transited the Seaway – Stay off the Ice

The Public Safety Division (PSD) wishes to advise the community that the Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker passed through the St. Lawrence Seaway on Friday, 19 Enniskó:wa/March, in preparation for the opening of the 2021 navigation season.
The ice in the bay by Onake is melting and the water is moving in the seaway. Community members are reminded to urge caution and remain off the ice during this time. PSD will be posting Caution Signs in key areas in the coming days.
The Seaway officially opened this morning at 8am.
