Reminder - Easter Holiday and limited visitation
03/31/2021
The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force (Take Force) would like to remind the community that Directive 36.5 – Private home visits permitted with a maximum of up to 8 people outside, remains in effect and asking Kahnawa’kehró:non to celebrate responsibly this holiday weekend.
“Outdoor home gatherings of up to eight people are permitted, and we are asking the community to follow the Directive and all recommendations to ensure the health and safety of your loved ones and the community,” said Lloyd Phillips, Commissioner of Public Safety. “We typically see an increase in the number of COVID-19 infections and testing rates after a holiday period, and we are urging the community to help fight this trend for the Easter Holiday.”
While limited outdoor home gatherings are now permitted, indoor home visitations are still limited to one other household at a time.
All measures of distance, masking, and hygiene should be followed at all times, whether gathering indoor or outdoors.
