Reminder - Call for Commissioner of Kahnawake Gaming Commission
03/31/2021
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to remind the community that it is looking for interested candidates to serve as a Commissioner of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC).
The position is to be filled for a one (1) year term. It has been determined that a public call would reach a further range of candidates than the recruitment process that is currently underway.
The KGC consists of three voting members who are appointed by the MCK on staggered terms. The main role as a Commissioner is to direct the KGC in its mandate to license and regulate gaming and gaming-related activities within and from the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawà:ke. The successful candidate would fill the one vacant position alongside Commissioners Herb Rice and Daryl Leclaire.
Interested candidates must be registered on the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Registry, have no financial interest or management responsibility for an establishment involving gaming or gaming-related activities within the Territory, and must not have been convicted of an indictable offence (except when a full pardon has been granted). Candidates must send a written letter of intent to the address below no later than April 1st, 2021, at 4pm:
To the Attention of Ratsénhaienhs Mike Delisle, Jr. Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke P.O. Box 720 Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory, QC J0L 1B0
