Big Fence Ecological Inventory
04/07/2021
The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) is pleased to inform the community of an ecological study in the Big Fence area starting April 2021 and lasting through the fall. The inventories will assess the presence and abundance of wildlife in the Big Fence area, including reptiles, amphibians, mammals, fish, birds, and plants. These inventories will help KEPO make informed decisions regarding conservation for the Big Fence area going forward. The work will take place with the assistance of a hired consultant, Tetratech (PTA). The consultant will be accompanied by KEPO staff at all times.
The first inventories will take place throughout the week of April 12th and will include surveys for migratory birds and frogs. Details of additional surveys will be provided prior to their start date.
For questions, please contact KEPO at 450-635-0600 or Environment.Protection@mck.ca.
