MCK conducting walk-through inspection for ACM on 207 near cemetery
04/26/2021
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that a walk-through inspection will take place on properties at the Highway 207/Cemetery Road junction to check for any asbestos-containing material (ACM) that may have surfaced.
The inspection will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 1pm (weather permitting) by MCK workers specially trained in the safe handling of ACM, with all safety guidelines and procedures respected. Should any pieces be found, they will be properly removed by double bagging the pieces.
This inspection is a follow-up to work that has been done regarding ACM in the area. All safety measures directed by the COVID-19 Task Force will be observed, such as masking and social distancing.
An ACM Fact Sheet is available now online at www.kahnawake.com with information about how to identify materials that are potential ACM and what to do if you find them. More information will be coming out in the next few weeks concerning ACM.
