New Residential Waste Garbage Bins available today
05/04/2021
The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that garbage bins are now available for residents who don’t already own a garbage bin suitable for automated collection.
Waste Management is trying to steer away from the round garbage cans and the wooden garbage storage bins. The new bins facilitate the automated collection and reduce the employee work hazards due to the lifting of heavy bags/bins into the garbage trucks and falling bin lids. The newly purchased 360L garbage bins will assist in keeping our community cleaner by stopping waste from blowing around, and birds and dogs from ripping bags.
Waste Management will be set up behind the Water Plant located on Tekakwitha Island Road. Distribution will be starting today (Tuesday, May 4) from 1:30pm to 3pm and will continue throughout the week at the same time each day, weather dependent.
For more information, or should you have any questions, please contact the Waste Management Department at 450-632-4321.
