Tree Planting in Community Parks

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to advise the community that the Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO), the Sports and Recreation Unit and the Waste Management Department will be partnering on a tree-planting initiative in community parks beginning tomorrow, Wednesday June 2nd at Orville Standup Park and the Kahnaw�:ke Sports Complex. A total of sixty (60) trees will be planted at several local parks in the coming days. These trees will provide much needed shade and habitat in the parks.
Parents are asked to accompany their children when playing at the parks as there will be heavy machinery on site. A backhoe will be used to excavate the holes, please be advised to keep a safe distance from the machinery.
