More ACM removal work for Lot 106

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that further work to remove soil with asbestos containing material (ACM) is scheduled to begin this coming Monday, June 14th. 

Sanexan Environmental Services, Inc., a company that specializes in the removal of ACM, will be on the Territory to begin preparation work. The entire project should take approximately four (4) days, weather permitting. As in previous instances, all necessary precautions and processes will be utilized to meet or exceed the regulations governing such matters. The property will be fenced off with tarpaulins to prevent/reduce dust, and roads will be cleaned as needed. 

All work will take place between 7am and 2pm, with the soils to be transported to an authorized facility off the Territory. A local excavator will be working with Sanexan on this removal. This follows similar work undertaken in the past. Please note that Asbestos Working Group is working on a global remediation strategy, and more information will be forth coming.  

The Asbestos Working Group is continuing its work to resolve this situation and is committed to resolving the matter as quickly and safely as possible.
