Important SAFETY NOTICE for Mini Putt project – keep kids away from worksite or accompany them

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that there will be excavation and construction in Sesame Park as part of the overall Mini Putt and Playground project. 

Although the playground portion is nearly complete and the play elements are in place, the overall project is not finished.

“We are asking parents to accompany all children visiting the Sesame Park playground and speak with them about safety while in the park,” said Mackenzie Whyte, Interim Director of MCK Sports & Recreation. “Barriers will be erected to maintain a safe perimeter, as we do not want to have to close the park until the project is complete. The safety of our children is of the utmost importance, please ensure they do not play in the area under construction.”

After the land grading currently underway, the Mini Putt fencing will begin next week. The tentative date for the Mini Putt course to be ready is July 1st, 2021. More information will be provided closer to that date.
