Emergency Preparedness Law Amended
11/05/2008
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke has announced that the Kahnawà:ke Emergency Preparedness Law (K.R.L. c. E-2) has been amended by Mohawk Council Resolution (#1 / 2008-2009).
The amendments do not require the classification under the Interim Legislative Coordinating Committee, using the new Community Decision Making Process, because they are amendments of a purely clerical nature, namely, the reconciliation of the numbers used to denote certain subsections of the Law. (More specifically, “That subsection 10 of the Law” be changed to “That subsection 7 of the Law” in two consecutive clauses in subsection 7)
The Mohawk Council resolution was proposed by Chief John Dee Delormier and seconded by Chief Rhonda Kirby and was passed unanimously on 27, Kenténha/October 2008.
The law is available online in the Public Documents section of Kahnawake.com.
