Holiday Train to Make Third Visit to Kahnawą:ke!
11/10/2008
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke would like to inform the community that the famous Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train will make its third visit to Kahnawą:ke on Wednesday, 26 Kentenhkó:wa/November.
Kahnawą:ke is the first stop for the U.S Holiday Train, which will visit several communities in the north-eastern United States. The various Holiday Trains visit communities across the country (and parts of the U.S.) raising awareness and assisting local food banks. This is the tenth year of operation. Since it began operating in 1999, over $3.56 million has been raised for this purpose.

Once again, community members are being urged to make donations of cash or unwrapped new toys for the Kahnawą:ke Food Basket Committee. All of the proceeds will be distributed to those less fortunate by the Committee.
The train is expected to arrive at Adirondack Junction at 7pm, with a half-hour show scheduled to begin at 7:15pm. This year, two well-know Canadian artists will perform: Melanie Doane and Wide Mouth Masons Shaun Verreault. The train will depart at 8pm.
