Asbestos Civil Investigation Monthly Update

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to provide a post-election update from the Asbestos Civil Investigation (ACI) Project Team.

• As a result of the 2021 elections, the ACI Project Team is now made up of Oh�n:ton �:iente ne Ratits�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer with returning members Nits�nhaienhs Cody Diabo and Lindsay Leborgne.

• The investigation is now more than halfway through the project timeline. The estimated completion is mid-September 2021.

• The Deloitte Forensic Inc. investigation team is continuing with interviews. The Project Team has been informed that review and analysis of documents provided are ongoing.

• Doug Lahache remains the Community Observer on the Civil Investigation team.

"Despite this Investigation being conducted over an election period, it has not slowed the work that Deloitte is doing, and that was the point," stated Rats�nhaienhs Cody Diabo. "Deloitte is doing an amazing job, and I have full confidence they will uncover the answers the community needs."
