Transfer of unauthorized and or uninspected soil within the Territory

The Landfill Authority and Landfill Office of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK), which is responsible for the administration of all landfilling activities in Kahnaw�:ke, would like to take this time to remind all Construction and Excavation Companies operating within the community, and all MCK Departments of the proper procedures for transporting soil within the Territory.

The Landfill Office must be notified when moving soil.

• Any soil transport from any excavation site must be inspected and/ or tested before moving it to another site on the Territory.
• Failure to comply with the Landfill Policy and Procedures may result in charges under the Sanitary Conditions Law and/ or orders to remove any unauthorized soil.
• These reminders are to ensure clean soil is being transported and delivered to Kahnawa:ke homes and landowners.
