MCK meets with Quebec Indigenous Affairs Minister today

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that a meeting took place this morning between Ohén:ton I:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Quebec’s Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs, Ian Lafrenière. This was their first in-person meeting.

The agenda items included:

• Relationship Framework (document that governs Quebec Kahnawà:ke Relations)
• Chateauguay Residential Project on Kahnawà:ke’s traditional territory
• Funding Issues regarding the new Cultural Center

The meeting was conducted in person.
