Staffing changes at Office of the Kahnawake Kanienkehaka Registry

The Client Based Services (CBS) Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is pleased to officially announce that Melanie Gilbert has been hired as the new General Manager of the Office of the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry, CBS Unit. Ms. Gilbert began her new duties yesterday (Monday, August 16th).

This move within the Office of the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry is a result of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Election which saw previous General Manager Alan John Rice elected to the position of Rats�nhaienhs (Council Chief). With the changes in the Department there will soon be job postings for the open position of Registrar as well as a post for a second Compliance Officer to address any potential conflict of interest issues in the future.

Ms. Gilbert will be reporting to Alexis Shackleton, Director of CBS.
