KEPO Aquatic Insect Sampling September 27-29
09/23/2021
The Kahnawake Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform the community that we will be completing sampling for the aquatic monitoring strategy from Monday, September 27th to Wednesday, September 29th in Suzanne River, Little Suzanne River, and North Creek.
Sampling and training of staff will occur near the seaway access road, along Mohawk Trail Road near Tylor Glasgow Memorial Park, and the tracks area off of Route 207.
KEPO will be collecting samples of invertebrates such as worms, insects, and snails and identifying them in the lab. The diversity of these organisms will provide information on the health of the creek and the quality of the water.
This is part of KEPO’s larger aquatic monitoring program in Kahnawà:ke. For more information, please contact KEPO at 450-635-0600 or environmentprotection@mck.ca.
