REMINDER Hao Tewaientho! Lets Plant! tree planting event starts Monday

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to remind the community that the tree planting initiative, Ho Tewaintho! Lets Plant! starts this Monday, October 4, and continues until Saturday, October 9. The event is part of KEPOs Climate Change Project, with a goal of planting 475 indigenous trees and shrubs in several public locations across the community.

Trees and shrubs will not only beautify the community and offer shelter/sustenance to wildlife, but also assist in our fight against climate change by lowering the temperature in these areas and providing cleaner air.

COVID-19 safety precautions will be respected during the event (hand hygiene, physical distancing, and masking). All volunteers must preregister online (

For any questions about the Climate Change Project, please contact Marina Gosselin, Environmental Projects Coordinator for Climate Change, at, or call 450-635-0600.
