The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community of upcoming works on the water distribution network. The work consists of locating the house connection valve (bonhomme) and detecting any possible leakage at the house connection.
Leak detection is an integral part of the maintenance program of a water distribution system. Inspections will occur in the areas shown in the location plan below and a few random house connections throughout the water distribution network.
The team will consist of workers from Public Works and the Capital Unit, they will use sound equipment to determine if the house connection is leaking. The workers will also measure the water pressure at the EXTERNAL WATER TAP, if there is one.
Work is scheduled to start on Sunday, October 17, 2021, and is scheduled to last 2 weeks. The work will take place from 10pm to 4am, Sunday to Thursday.
