Annual Christmas Bird Count

The Community Protection Unit would like to inform the community that they have issued three (3) permits to the Bird Protection of Quebec Organization for their Annual Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 20th.

Permits were issued to Team Leaders in accordance with the areas they will be conducting their studies. They are as follows:

Permit #1: Kahnaw�:ke - Chateauguay (7) - Issued to Area Leader: Felix Hilton with Tom Long, Sharon Veysey, Wayne Grubert, Jean Demers, Clemence Soulard

Permit #2: Kahnaw�:ke Reserve (3) Issued to Area Leader: David Millar with Michel Beaupre, Pierre Boily

Permit #3: Kahnaw�:ke - St. Catherine Lock (6) Issued to Area Leader: John Hodges with David Smith, Eve Marshall, Jean Bacon, Averill Craig, Jack Poluszynski

All participants are part of Bird Protection Quebec, one of the oldest Conservation Organizations in the province. They manage and maintain several bird sanctuaries by keeping track of the number of species in the area.

The Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office and related departments are aware of this initiative and requested it be publicized to all Kahnawa�kehr�:non.
