Important Notice, especially to hunters, regarding KEPO fieldwork at Big Fence

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform the community that topographic surveying will be occurring in the Big Fence area from Monday, October 25th to Wednesday, October 27th as part of their project to assess the ecological integrity of these lands. KEPO staff, along with a consultant, will be present throughout each day, beginning at 8am.

KEPO understands that community members may be in the area for hunting purposes during this time. All participants will be wearing high-visibility clothing, and we would ask that community members be aware of the fieldwork that is taking place and use appropriate caution.

For ultimate safety, it is requested that hunting be halted for these days. This will be the last inventory of the year.
