2021-2024 Legislative Agenda announced

The Kahnawą:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission wishes to announce the 2021-2024 Legislative Agenda, which coincides with the current Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) Council of Chiefs three-year term of office:
- Draft laws currently in the Community Decision Making Process (CDMP) which have been on hold due to the on-going pandemic:
- Urgent Law now going through the Regular CDMP Kahnawą:ke Residency Law (Type I)
- Amendment to the Animal Control Law (Type II)
- Proposal for the creation of a Kahnawą:ke Tobacco Law (Urgent Process Memorandum of Understanding between the MCK Council of Chiefs and the Kahnawą:ke Tobacco Association)
- Proposal for the creation of a Kahnawą:ke Occupational Safety & Health Law (Type II)
II. Recent submissions of requests for amendments to Laws:
- Amendment to the Kahnawą:ke Election Law (Type I)
- Amendment to the Kahnawą:ke Gaming Law (Type II)
III. Other pending legislation placed in abeyance to be addressed at a later date:
- Proposal of a Kahnawą:ke Family Homes & Matrimonial Interests Law (Type I)
IMPORTANT: While the Legislative Agenda has been set, it must be noted that it is subject to change and the Community Decision Making Process meetings are on hold until it is deemed safe to resume.
