Updated Public Health Measures in effect

The Public Safety Commission and the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) wish to advise the community of changes to local Public Health Measures, as per Directive #65.

Effective immediately, 2-meter distancing is now recommended, rather than a requirement in indoor public settings, and Proof of Vaccination Measures remains in effect.

Additionally, some changes are now in effect for businesses, restaurants, public and private spaces:

  • Restaurants, Bars and Social clubs; No restrictions on capacity, masks* required for employees and customers (unless seated), registry of customers and proof of vaccination required
  • Cigar Lounges: No restrictions on capacity, masks* required for employees and customers (unless seated), registry of customers and proof of vaccination required
  • Retail and shopping: No restrictions on capacity, masks* required for all employees and customers.
  • Manufacturing/Construction: masks* should be worn if indoors or outdoors in close contact for more than 10 minutes outside
  • Churches, Funerals, Ceremonial services: no restrictions on capacity, masks* required at all times while indoors and registry required
  • Indoor Private gatherings: 12 people maximum, masks* recommended if vaccination status is unknown
  • Outdoor Public gatherings:  No restrictions provided space permits based on distancing recommendations, masks* recommended if vaccination status is unknown
  • Organizations: Phased-in return to office
  • Sports: According to preapproved association/league/school safety standards 
  • Hall rental: Hall rentals are permitted in accordance with distancing recommendations and masking and proof of vaccination requirements, increased capacity based on inspection by Public Safety, exemptions can be made on case by case basis for education, health or social support groups
  • Public TransportationMasks* required by customer(s) and driver
  • Live Music/Karaoke/shows/dancing: Permitted provided Public Health Measures are respected

Masks * -  3 ply medical or medical type mask are recommended for all masking requirements

Anyone who is immunocompromised or unvaccinated should be extra vigilant when determining your level of risk tolerance and activities.
