Quebec Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Ian Lafrenière visits Kahnawake

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Quebec’s Minister responsible for Aboriginal Affairs, Ian Lafrenière, is meeting with Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs (Grand Chief) Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer today in Kahnawà:ke.

Minister Lafrenière will be accompanied by Marie-Chantal Chassé, the Member of the National Assembly representing the riding of Chateauguay.

Agenda items include discussions on the draft Quebec/Kahnawà:ke relationship framework, the proposed meeting with Quebec Premier François Legault, the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Cultural Center, and other items.
