Social Assistance special COVID-19 funding

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke′s Client Based Services wishes to advise persons who receive Social Assistance benefits of additional COVID-19 funding to cover their essential living expenses and the rising costs experienced during the pandemic.

Each client file will receive the same amount, as it is for the rising cost of household expenses, regardless of their being one or two people supported.

The COVID-19 funding is retroactive to November 2021, covering the November - January 2022 period, and will be issued this week in mailboxes only.

Please note that the total monthly benefit has not changed. If a person received Social Assistance benefits only for one month, then they will receive the retroactive amount for that period.
