Reminder – Feedback for Kahnawake Residency Law and Kanienkehaka of Kahnawake Law ends Thursday

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to remind the community that two (2) regulations drafted under the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law and (2) regulations drafted under the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law (KKL) will be reviewed for community feedback until this Thursday, February 24th at 4pm.

Please send feedback on the Regulations by email to feedback@mck.ca;by mail to the MCK at P.O. Box 720, Kahnawà:ke, J0L1B0, c/o Melanie Konwenni Gilbert, General Manager, Office of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry; or by telephone at (450) 638-0500.
Comments from the current feedback period will be compiled and posted on February 28th, after which the community will have the opportunity to provide further feedback until Wednesday, March 30th at 4pm. After the 30-day review period, all recommendations received will be compiled for review and acceptance by Chief and Council.
**Additionally, the Office of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry is pleased to announce that Brooke Stacey has been formally confirmed as the Registrar, and Jaime-Lynn Deere has been formally confirmed as the Compliance Officer. Both were formally confirmed by Mohawk Council Executive Directive at today’s duly-convened Council meeting.
