Free potatoes available for community members TODAY
02/28/2022
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that 2,500 pounds of potatoes will be made available to community members on a first-come, first-served basis this afternoon.
The potatoes are being sent from Akwesasne and are donated through the Nelson Jock Project, in which a local farmer has been donating excess potatoes. One hundred (100) bags will be brought to the Kateri Food basket for their use, while the remainder will be available at the Nolan Mall (across from the former Tota’s Tickle trunk) beginning at some point this afternoon.
Announcements will be made when the time can be confirmed. Additionally, if anyone is available to assist in the distribution, please be present at the location when the announcement is made.
