Peacekeepers Ethics Committee seeking community member

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that it is looking for one (1) person to serve on the Kahnawą:ke Peacekeepers Ethics Committee.

As stated in its mandate, the Peacekeeper Ethics Committee  will, “consider complaints made by any person against one or more members of the Kahnawą:ke Peacekeepers and to resolve those complaints using principles and processes set out in the Kahnawą:ke Peacekeepers Law, and any regulations derived from the Law.”

Interested Kanien’kehį:ka of Kahnawą:ke must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and reside within the Territory. All candidates will be required to sign a waiver to permit a criminal background check. The members will be selected by the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke based on written nominations/recommendations sent to the address below no later than 4pm on Friday, April 8th, 2022:

The selected member will be required to meet on a monthly basis, as well as attend other meetings and activities that may be necessary to fulfill their mandate. Members will be compensated for loss of income occasioned by services associated with their office, or such reasonable expenses or remuneration as determined by the MCK.
