KEPO Rain Barrel Giveaway a huge success

The Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) is pleased to announce that all 90 rain barrels with diverters have been claimed by community members. Almost 260 persons applied to receive one of the environmentally-friendly devices.

Unfortunately, there will not be additional barrels available for giveaway this year, as the funds came from a specific program (the Climate Change project).

This rain barrel is a system that collects and stores rainwater from your roof. With higher average temperatures and drought conditions becoming more common due to climate change, rain barrels provide a sustainable source of water for gardens and indoor plants and help reduce our water consumption.
