Grand Chief meeting with MRC Roussillon Prefect

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer is meeting this afternoon with Christian Ouellet, the Prefect of the MRC Roussillon.

The MRC Roussillon consists of eleven (11) municipalities in the region, including all of Kahnawà:ke’s neighboring communities.

“I’m looking forward to this initial conversation with the Prefect,” said Sky-Deer. “It will be the first time that I meet Mr. Ouellet. I’m hoping to establish a political and technical relationship, as we have several issues to discuss, including the Seigneury of Sault St. Louis.”

Other agenda items include the Rt-132 ‘Urban Boulevard’ project; Port Expansion; Police Profiling; and Communications.

The meeting is taking place from 2:30 to 4pm via Zoom.
