More Fieldwork for Nocturnal Owl Survey Tuesday night

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) would like to inform the community that a second night of the nocturnal owl survey will be conducted on Tuesday, April 19, from 8:30pm until midnight.

A group of KEPO employees, along with four members of Bird Protection Quebec, will be visiting seven stations on the North Wall. KEPO staff will be wearing high visibility vests, and vehicles will be marked. Owl calls will be broadcasted at each of the stations as part of the survey.

The Nocturnal Owl Survey is a nation-wide initiative coordinated by Birds Canada and conducted by volunteers throughout Canada. The surveys are used to monitor the health of owl populations over time. This is KEPOs third year participating in the survey. The community will be informed of the results of this initiative.
