Next phase of electrical work to begin on Mercier Bridge

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke has been informed by the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated that the next phase of work to re-wire the Mercier Bridge will begin on Thursday, May 5.

Local contractor Mohawk Bridge Consortium (MBC) and its sub-contractors will be installing new wiring and conduit that will supply electricity from the new electrical control building to the lighting infrastructure on the span of the bridge. This work will not have an impact on local traffic.

This phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of June 2022.

The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
